On April 14th 2024, the Iranian regime attacked Israel from Iranian soil with more than 300 suicide drones, cruise missiles and balistic missiles. Six months earlier, the October 7th massacre in Israel by Hamas terrorists shocked the world. More than 1,400 Israeli citizens have been killed; more than 6,000 have been injured and 250 + were taken hostage into Gaza. To date, there have been 12,000 + rockets fired into Israel’s civilian areas in the south and another 3,500 + rockets from Hezbolah and Lebanon in the north. More than 6 months since the war began, there are nearly 150,000 Internally Displaced Israelis (IDP’s) and thousands more have left Israel and are refugees in need of different kinds of assistance. This crisis has put an enormous strain on Israel’s economy and national medical system.
Project Aid & Rescue is quickly filling essential medical supply shortages
A few days after the war began, we recieved a call from Israel’s Minitry of Health’s Disaster & Emergency Response Task Force. We quickly mobilized and offered any and all assistance to augment and increase Israel’s medical capabilities, and we have not stopped. But we need your help today. As a 100% volunteer 501(c)3 charity, every monetary donation made will directly contribute to acquiring vital equipment and support urgently needed medical care for Israel.
From the terrorized Israeli victims who experienced the Hamas attacks first hand while hiding in their safe rooms; to the tens of thousands of Israeli’s who evacuated their homes in the north and the south due to indiscriminate rocket attacks; to the volunteers across the country that mobilized to defend and protect Eretz Yisrael; It is our duty and our honor to provide medical supplies, tactical first aid equipment and protective survival equipment; To assist with housing; provide food and other humanitarian needs; to aid with securing the people and communities in Israel that have been affected by this national trajedy.
The Golden Hour Project: Life saving equipment for Israeli front line medics and Rapid Response Teams known as “Kitat Konenut” or the Civilian Guard.
When it comes to saving lives, seconds and minutes count. The first hour following a traumatic injury is called the “Golden Hour”. The optimization of proper medical treatment during the first 60 minutes is critical for survival. Lack of oxygen or extreme loss of blood is often the difference between living and dying. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
The Golden Hour Project works to save lives quickly. Hypoxia (a lack of oxygen), hypothemia (extreme cold), and hypotension (low blood pressure or lack of blood plasma), if not addressed in the first hours of traumatic injury, will ofthen lead to death.
Medical Equipment Critical for the “Golden Hour” include:
- Airway Management–Video laryngoscopes, laryngeal masks, ventilators, and capnographs.
- Monitoring equipment–Cardiac monitor-defibrillator, pulse oximetry, automatic blood pressure monitors.
- Hand-held ultrasounds–For diagnosis of internal bleeding, endotracheal tube placement, pneumothorax.
We received a direct and focused request from a medical partner in Israel for a special type of medical supply needed with a total cost of around $11,000.
We sourced them through volunteers and doctors and found them at a medical supply facility in Ohio.
One of our partners found a donor who stepped up immediately and donated the money to Project Aid & Rescue, and supplies were purchased that very same day. The next morning we coordinated transportation from Ohio to Newark New Jersey. They were picked up that morning and driven straight to Newark 9 hours later. The next morning, they were on a plane sent directly to Israel.
In less than 48 hours, our team sourced the medical supplies, secured the supplies with a donor, coordinated the ground logistics and secured a direct flight to bring these supplies to Israel.
Hand-held Mobile Butterfly Ultrasounds – Used to diagnose internal bleeding or pneumothorax (a punctured lung) for definitive treatment with blood products, rapid triage, or needle application. These mobile ultrasounds have saved many lives by being able to quickly identify sources of internal bleeding.
Video laryngoscopes – Essential for intubation (the procedure of placing a plastic tube down the windpipe) and increases the success rate and ensuring correct placement even under challenging situations such as the battlefield.
Capnographs – An apparatus that checks the breathing tube is in the windpipe and not dislodged or inserted into the esophagus- a common error- preventing asphyxia, aspiration, and death.
Rapid Infusers – Used to prevent fatal blood loss or bleed out; allows for the administration of blood products within minutes rapidly and at a warm temperature.
It says in the Talmud “To save a life is to save the world”. Please join Project Aid & Rescue in these dark days to protect the sanctity of life.
Project Aid & Rescue and our partners have created the Golden Hour Project through our Israel Emergency Campaign. Building on our crisis response in Ukraine and volunteer network of hundreds of people across dozens of countries, we have mobilized volunteers in Israel, Europe, and North America to respond to the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Israel.
Please help us save lives with a tax deductible donation.
